You need the remote to change to game mode. The original remote doesn't appear to be available. A substitute remote with the function is here: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=DWT2405&uuid=12931247714820 . The Game button switches to and from game mode. Other universal remotes may work but a source or input button is needed. Then try various codes for either Durabrand or Funai TVs (Funai built the TV). The other issue is that the remote needs to have been programmed at least 6 months after the TV was released. The remotes that are programmed via a USB connection to a computer will definately be able to match the function.
Hello
You can set the Game mode and External input mode at the same time by pressing the GAME button on the remote control. "GAME" appears on the TV screen. To exit the the Game mode and the external input mode, press the GAME button on the remote control again. To cancel GAME mode only, adjust the PICTURE control. The game mode will be set ot 'OFF" automatically. In this case "VIDEO" instead of "GAME" appeares on the TV screen. When you press the GAME button if the TV is off, the TV turns ON and will be in the GAME mode and external input mode automatically.
All tv's have a sticker on the back with the model number clearly printed on it.
Most Durabrand tv's have a Source button on the case, use it to switch to the game console AV entry and back to the tv.
[USING THE GAME BUTTON] You may also set the Game mode and external input mode at the same time by pressing the GAME button on the remote control. “GAME” appears on the TV screen. ● To exit the Game mode and external input mode, press the GAME button on the remote control again. ● To cancel the Game mode only, adjust the picture control. The Game mode will be set to [OFF] automatically as explained in the previous section. In this case, “VIDEO”(external input mode) instead of “GAME” appears on the TV screen. ● When you press the GAME button if the TV is off, the TV turns on and will be in the Game mode and external input mode automatically.
Unless the TV has a front-panel menu button and allows you to switch modes from there, you are out of luck. There are two possibilities. One is to try another replacement remote. If you get a universal remote made by the TV manufacturer (Magnavox), it may have buttons that will work. The other option is to purchase an RF converter, which will cost around $15. This will take the video/audio signals from the game and convert it to a channel 3 or 4 signal you can then tune in on the TV. The picture won't be quite as bright and clear as with direct AV input, but it will do the trick.
Sometimes you can change the input by just clicking the channel button up >>> after the highest tv channel it'll go to Input 1, Input 2, etc. That's worked on one of my tv's but not all of them so it might work for you, too. Next suggestion would be to buy yourself a couple of universal remotes & keep them in a junk drawer for when you need one! We've found this PRICELESS!!! (Buy a couple when they're on sale & store them for those days when the remote was devoured by that oh-so-sneaky sofa!)
If the TV says AUX it might be trying to use the S-video if you have it. Try wiggling the Yellow video input while its connected... something might be lose my neices Durabrand does this. Do you have the remote still that has the GAME button on it? If not 3 digit code 189 works for Durabrands
Thanks, but the channel up button does not provide me with the game functions and walmart does not sell durabrand remotes, only universal ones.
