Yes it can be down to signal degradation especially via scart lead, make sure you use a decent scart if you buy an expensive one you can tell the difference. Run a cable from your sky digibox direct to your tv to see if the picture improves.

being a larger screen shows even more image degredation than a normal tv, as you may be aware LG have the XD engine, turning this on sometimes enhances a bad image, i have an LG and turn it off to soften the image a little especially when in HD

How to Add a Background Picture to a Microsoft Word Document 2007

t is easy to add a background picture by using the Watermark feature. First, you will click on “Page Layout”. In that menu bar (or ribbon), click on “Watermark”. A window menu will open. At the bottom of that window menu, click on “Custom Watermark”.
In the new menu that opens, check “Picture Watermark”, then “Select Picture” to find an image file on your computer to use. You have the option to have the picture look faded, as a watermark, or displayed in its full color. Check “Washout” for the faded option, or uncheck, to view the background picture in its full glory.
You will then need to choose the size of your background picture, by selecting one of the options under “Scale”.
To remove the watermark, simply click “Watermark”, and choose the “Remove Watermark” option.
Even if you don’t choose the “Washout” option, the background image will appear faded while you are working on your page. But, if you view the page through “Page Preview”, you can see how the background will look when printed.
To get to the "Page Preview" command, click on the button.jpgOffice Button on the upper left hand corner of the Word 2007 screen. Move your cursor over the "Print" option, and another menu will open to its right. On that menu, click "Print Preview".

Just bought a samsung ps50a557s3f 50" plasma tv and the picture isnt very good.Have only got normal sky at the moment and i was wondering what the best settings are

Hi Smudger

Not sure if you still have this issue, but i have just bought this TV & also use sky (not + or HD)...

I got myself a Monster Cable Home Theatre surge protection unit from comet, basically it helps filter out all the background interference (picture & sound) & helps boost the signal sent to the TV..

I use a gold plated scart lead from the sky box to the TV & the picture is spot on.......i've not noticed any ghosting/pixeling etc & am well impressed...

The unit came with a top end HDMI cable & cost £135 (bit excessive you may think, but to buy the unit & cable seperate would cost £250!!) + the cable is a 'cable for life', so you can get a free updated cable as technology progresses :-)

My sky signal was always at half power (you can view this from the sky menu options) & now its almost full signal

LG 42 inch Plasma Picture in Picture with SKY satellite service

PIP only works off two seperate signals, eg you cannot watch 2 sky channels at a time, you can watch sky tv and then your analogue channel using PIP or freeview, you can then swap which is to be viewed as a large picture and which is to be viewed as the smaller picture or half and half.

Blue discoloration

I have replaced alot of these light engines for this problem. Yesterday I received a letter from Sony saying they are going to give an additional warranty to have the optics replaced. I just checked, your model is one of them and Sony is replacing the optic block under an extended warranty, regardless of the purchase date, until the end of October 2008. Contact Sony for an Authorized Service Center in your area or go to this site to read about it: http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-item.pl?news_id=185&mdl=KDSR60XBR1 Have this repair done on your set and it should save you about $1300.00 to $1500.00 on the repair. Hope this helps.

Shooting modes

The Shooting modes are as follows: PROGRAM (P)/AUTO Modes Used for general photography. The camera automatically makes the settings for natural color balance. In PROGRAM (P) the brightness (exposure compensation) can be adjusted. In AUTO mode you cannot use exposure compensation or panorama features. Portrait Suitable for taking a portrait-style shot of a person. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. Sports Suitable for capturing fast moving action without blurring. Even a fast moving object will appear to be stationary. Landscape Suitable for taking photos of landscapes and other outdoor scenes. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. Night scene Suitable for shooting pictures in the evening or at night. The camera sets a slower shutter speed than is used in normal shooting. If you take a picture of a street at night in any other mode, the lack of brightness will result in a dark picture with only dots of light showing. In this mode, the true appearance of the street is captured. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. If you use the flash, you can take pictures of both the subject and the background. Nightscene + Portrait Suitable for taking photos of your subject in the evening or at night. This setting employs a slow shutter speed, the camera should be stabilized to avoid camera shake resulting in a blurred picture. Landscape + Portrait Suitable for taking photos of both your subject and the landscape. This setting allows for both the foreground subject and background landscape to be in focus. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. Self Portrait Enables you to take a picture of yourself while holding the camera. Point the lens towards yourself and the focus will be locked on you. The camera automatically sets the optimal shooting conditions. The zoom is locked to wide-angle and cannot be changed. Indoor Optimum settings for taking pictures of family gatherings and groups of friends. This mode reproduces the background clearly capturing the atmosphere. Beach Suitable for taking photos at the beach under a bright blue sky. Colors of the sky, the beach and people are reproduced vividly. Snow Optimun settings for taking pictures where backgrounds are snow fields. Settings are similar to Beach settings and colors of the sky, the greenery and people are reproduced vividly. Fireworks Optimum settings for capturing fireworks in the night sky. Since this setting employs a slow shutter speed , the camera should be stabilized to avoid camera shake resulting in a blurred picture. Sunset Optimum settings for capturing pictures of the setting sun. This mode reproduces reds and yellows vibrantly. Again, this setting employs a slow shutter speed , the camera should be stabilized to avoid camera shake resulting in a blurred picture.
