Question about Acer Aspire 5630 Notebook

1 Answer

Xp Hi, i bought the 5630 with vista on it. I didnt like it so put XP Pro on it instead. I got the XP drivers from the acer site . My problem is that the GeForce Go 7300 driver is version 86.02. Apparently according to nvidia there is a more up to date driver called 162 (i think). I downloaded this driver but when i try to install it , i get a message about no suitable hardware found. Can anyone help please?

The driver you have downloaded may only support windows Vista. This may be your case. As one technical expert says that all driver versions above 100 are made for vista. So download some lesser versions.

This is the latest news from nVidia:

nVidia changed the way profiles are handled in version 163.x of their Forceware drivers

The driver reads some setting from the profile file (nvapps.xml) directly instead of reading them from the registry. Additionally, nVidia added a checksum to the profile file. The checksum protects all ?predefined? settings, i.e. all settings that are included in the driver installation. The consequence is, that it?s no longer possible to modify any of the predefined options.
This isn?t a big issue, since almost all of those settings are for compatibility only and shouldn?t be changed anyway. But there are many people out there who like to experiment, especially with the SLI compatibility flags. There is a work-around that will allow to change any of those settings, including the SLI flags. The original profile has to be disabled. A completely new profile will then take over for the game in question.
The ?Duplicate? button has been changed to provide that functionality automatically. The user has the option to create a duplicate profile while the original profile is disabled automatically.

Many changes have been made to nHancer to make sure that it works correctly with the new profile handling. It affects many areas of the tool, like the ?Import? function or the ?Delete Profile? function. nHancer will notify you if your action would affect any predefined setting instead of changing them.

Installation of drivers

yes surin,
What you need that the driver version must support windows xp.
If you don't have driver for windows xp, you can download it free from you manufacturer's site i.e. from Acer.
Goto that site select your model and OS and make downloads.

If any problem, just ask me.

Thanks

No sound

This Happened After An Update That said You needed The Update And It was Incompatible With You hardware. Go To Device manager And Roll back The Audio Driver To The Driver before he Most Current. And manually Change it back To The Other Driver. Hopefully This will Solve Your Problem. That has Happened to me on Many Different Computers unning Vista, XP Pro And XP Pro 64. It Is Most Likey Conextent.

If Acer does not let you download anything for XP, then you are out of luck.
