Hi check the cables from the case to the mother board. They should be marked and the book that came with the board will tell you where to connect them. The std markings are HDD [red led] PWR S [powerswitch] RSW [reset switch] PWR LED [case power light] To test if there is no fault in the board or power pack. first visualy check the board to see if you have a red led light on when the power is turned on, if not the problem is in the power pack or the wall outlet. second if the light is on, the bridge the pins marked pwr switch on the board with a screw driver and this should start the computer, if not you have a faulty board. NO. you cannot install DUO to *********** board. the DUO is pinless and the P4 3.06 is pin type if you want to upgrade your PC you have to replace the mother board too.

Installed a new processor and now it wont work

Is that an upgraded processor? If it is, then somehow, it could be its configuration problem with the older processor on software side. Your previous installation of OS remember its past processor and reporting error.

You can try fresh installation. Just for the input.

Your motherboard is for a AMD processor not Intel. You need a motherboard for a Intel processor before you can proceed. They are so different. Core Duo chips don't even use pins.

Upgrade problems

The p23g V1.0 motherboard doesn't support the core duo processor. Do not try to install it or you may damage either the board or the processor.

The p23g V3.0 support also the core duo processor

Follow this link and you can see for each motherboard the different processor used.

My suggestion is that you use the p29g
