- my monitor is a medion md9323aj. I dont have access to another monitor to try it. since posting I've noticed that the keyboard doesnt respond either. the lights usually flash when the pc is switched on, but they do nothing. My guess is there is a problem with the motherboard and probably that the mouse doesnt respond either
When you turn the desktop on does it go through the self test and beep at you or just sit there and do nothing? If you hear the beep and see the test or a logo on your monitor, then everything goes blank your hard drive has a problem. If you see and hear nothing it could be motherboard, power supply, memory, or video card. Try reseating everything you can and blowing the dust out of the machine.
The PC isn't sending a video signal to the monitor. Does the PC work with another monitor? If so, the monitor needs to look on a different input for the signal from your PC. You didn't say what monitor you have so I can't tell you how to do that.

Hi, I have an asus geforce fx6600,128MB graphics card, running on an asus a8ne-fm motherboard. I have just tried to use the tv-out function with an s-video connection to my tv.
I asked the card to detect my TV resulting in half the screen on the monitor disappearing. I tried rebooting, but I now get a black screen once I get passed the Windows XP boot screen. I then tried tried resetting the graphics card by removing and re-connecting it.....with no joy I'm afraid.
If you could tell me how to reset the card it would be most appreciated.

Bought x1600 pro agp video card thru Ebay. When I first installed it, all my monitor did was go to sleep when turned on. No video. Then I noticed my power supply was way underpowered for the card and bought a new 550w PS. Still get no video or bios on boot. It turns on as the fans are spinning and HDD lights are blinking, my board (chaintech SKT600) just doesn't see it. I've put back in the old Nvidia FX5200 and made sure I removed any old nvidia drivers, changed AGP aperture size, changed speed from 8x to 4x, still nothing. Did I get ripped off thru Ebay. The fan spins up on the video card but that doesn't mean jack. Any ideas are appreciated.
