Question about Samsung YH-925 MP3 Player
Battery on my 925 is getting worse and I'd like to replace it myself. I found the battery for sale, I opened the back and I see the battery cables are soldered on under the green battery cover. Does anyone have a step by step solution on how to go about soldering this the right way so it works for sure? Thanks, Anne
If you found the same battery all you need to do is unplug the old one from the player and insert in the new one. The wires should lead to the plug. Use your nails to carefully pull it out. and and you place it back in make sure you hear a click. If not I have explained how I did it here.
I replaced my battery with an old cellphone battery from samsung that was going to be thrown away. You probaly can find one on ebay for about $10. Make sure it is a square 3.7 liion recharageable battery. You may not need to do all of this if you find one just like the one in the player. But it may cost you about 20 - 30 bucks. Only do this if you are sure of what you are doing. I just break up the battery pack and open up the player. This is where it gets tricky. Unplug the battery and put it aside. Examine both batteries. Cut the green plastic from the player battery. Careful. There will be a circuit board on the one from the player. The idea is to remove it with the metal connectors than place it on the cellphone one. Make sure you place it the right way. Than tape it up tight with electrical tape. So it can fit back in the player. They plug in and charge for 4 hrs. And there you have it. If the player can't turn on with out the charger you did not made the connection tight enough on the battery.
