Re: Thomson Tv 28 DG 21 K

Hi. This could be the solution for the problem with for the led blinking fault code. The icc17 chassis is notorius for this problem but there are lots of things that can cause it I have listed the most common for you. FAULT DUE TO HT GOING OVER 200V, RP63 243K GONE HIGH IN VALUE, CAN ALSO CAUSE FURTHER DAMAGE, 250V AVALANCHE DIODE RB06 ON CRT BASE AND SOUND OUTPUT IC. CHECK ZL13 FUSE SUPPLY TO FRAME OUTPUT IC. REPLACE TL02 (BF422) AND TL59 (BC857 SMD) IN THE BEAM CURRENT LIMITING CIRCUIT. If your not at all sure get repair shop to take a look try & find one that does free estimates.

1)Whenever the word "sometimes" is used,a good visual inspection of PS,horiz, regulation & vert. circuits are needed.Solder any/all bad connects. 2)IHVT aka flyback is the usual culprit. Get part # and ask distributor how popular it is? Any info gathered when doing repairwork can be helpful.!

I have sony 29'' crt tv . model no KV-DZM61 .when the tv statrs on it shows green led,and after few second the led glows red and it blinked for 2 times .then the tv goes in stand by mode

2 blinks means - over current protection (OCP) , unit goes to the standby
mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of
any of the circuits.

TV does not turn on. Stand By LED blinks 4 times and pauses and blinks 4 times again Tv will not turn on...when plugged in the red stand by light flashes 4 can hear the tv turn on but a black...

On older Sony, sometimes a power surge causes the set to be in shut down mode. Try unplugging for 5 minutes and then plug in and try. This many times will fix.

When the TV is in stand by mode, press both volume controls on the TV and the blue botton on remote control for 5-8 seconds. All buttons must be pressed at the same time.

Then the P will disappear.

Good luck

Stand by

Hi I have very little knowledge of TV electronics but I have worked on other electrical devices, I had a very similar problem with my Thomson 32" TV (I had a whistling noise before it went into standby). and am pleased to say I have cured the problem myself!! If you have a soldering iron and the ability to use it I will describe what I have done. Obtain access to the main printed curcuit board (I left my TV unplugged overnight to enable any residual power to subside). on the main board (on mine upper left 1/4 of board looking from the back) you will see a circular group of solder joints (about 9 or 10 joints) that appears to be the main component that connects the curcuit board to the screen, check these joints to see if they have gone dry (they will appear to have a ring around solder joint)if so you might have found your problem, desolder these joints and remake with a good quality solder joint. I carried out my repair 5 days ago and am pleased to say my set has not gone into standby since. best of luck Stuart
