Nothing happens after Acer Logo

Hello Guys,
I have an Acer
Aspire 5600. I bought it some two years ago. I am facing a problem.
When I start my laptop. The white startup screen appears with the Acer
logo and "Press <F2> to enter setup" stated in the left bottom
corner.
However, when I press F2 nothing happens. And this screen remains there and the laptop does not boot.
I tried my luck by detaching the battery and then attaching it. But all in vain. Please help me. I am very sad and worried about it.
