Question about Home Theater Systems
Hi, I recently changed my A/V setup on my home theater. As part of that, I had to change my digital set top cable box from the digital input on the my receiver to a regular stereo (red & white cables) input so I could free up the digital audio for my xbox 360. When I changed the input I use for the cable box, which is video 1, from digital input to standard, I get no sound. Everything is plugged in correctly so not sure whats going on. I've had this kind of problem once or twice, but it usually resolved after cycling through the listening modes, but that isn't working this time. Any help would be appreciated.
Kind of late for a post to this question, but here goes. Most likely you need to change the xbox sound out settings to be digital

SOURCE: hello and thank you in
have you connected the optical cable. as the only way to get sound from the tv to the surround is via that link. the hdmi cable only send video and audio to the tv not both ways for some reason.
