radios often have components that over heat and burn out. Once burned out they have to be repaired or replaced. Ford F150 trucks are notorious for that.
If it smells like plastic burning. Stop using it immediately. As there could be an electrical short or overheating of the unit. If doesn't smell like plastic burning, you'll need to be more descriptive of what the odor smells like.
A major short. I wouldn't use the car. Especially if you smelled a burning smell. because your car can catch fire. This is very rare to happen to a car, but take it to an electrical system repair garage.
if you have not yet replaced the clutch master cylinder , that will be the cause of the problem
once that is replaced the pedal will come back to correct height
Sounds as if the door switch/latch had stuck.the smell was probably a small short. try unplugging unit. But I would imagine you need door latch/switch replaced
