Question about Roper RAX7244KQ Top Load Washer

Very loud noise during initial fill cycle only

When we turn the washer on the noise from filling is almost unbearable. Once the machine is filled all runs great - what's up with this? Thanks so much. Almost Hearing-Impaired

Re: very loud noise during initial fill cycle only

Try it in different temp settings and see if it makes noise in both hot and cold. It probably does it in hot or warm only which would explain why it doesn't do it during the cold fill for rinse. You probably need a fill valve but listen carefully and make sure noise isn't caused by the pipes coming to the machine. If it is 5 yrs old go ahead and replace supply hoses also, this is standard maintainance at that age.

My washing machine is incredibly loud when filling. The water coming in sounds like a jet engine.

Try closing the water valves a little at a time until it is quite enough for you. Do not close it completely.

My GLTF 2940 makes a buzzing sound like a relay not pulling in all the way, during the rinse cycle. If you shut off the washer, and restart it on the rinse only cycle, it goes away.

its probably your cold water rinse only valves solenoid thats loose on the structure or the coil itself is loose, you may not hear it all the time especially during the initial wash start fill, try this, set the washer for cold water fill only on the washer, but turn off the water valves that supply water and start your machine to a wash cycle as normal, try this and see if it dry buzzes(without water),then try the same on the hot side, then with the water still off open up the machine and you can localize the buzzing noise

Washing machine makes buzzing noise

Check the water pump for an obstruction in the chamber area, your pump may be sticking and that will cause the buzzing sound. The water pump runs during the fill portion of the cycle on several of the selected wash cycles to recirculate the water.

Clanking, sparking sound coming from washer

Need to know a little more info. Need to know if this noise starts when you first turn it on (during the fill up cycle), once the actual washer starts (wash cycle) or when it goes into spin cycle.

Will not hold water during initial cycle

The drain hose needs to be lifted above the high fill level in washer. The easiest way to fix this is take the drain hose (if your drain hose starts from the bottom of machine and goes up)tie or strap it to the back of the washer so it cant sag or drop down and start syphoning the water.Remember the washer will drain out the water if the drain hose is lower than the amount of water in the tub.Thats why your making sure by tieing the drain hose to the highest point before it makes it way to the drain .

Screeching Noise From Fisher & Paykel GWL115 Washer While Filling

if its while filling may be water pressure try turning tap down (hot)

Eileen, If the screeching is only happening on the fill and not during agitation or spin, I think we are safe to rule out the belt, pulley and bearing. Remove the fill hoses from the back of the washer and check to see if you have sand or gunk caught in the screens of the valve itself. If they are clear sounds like the water passing through the valve is making the noise. Another thing to check is the water pressure in the house. It should be around 55 psi., 75 psi max. I have seen it as high as 120psi with a bad regulator. This will cause noise and all kinds of problems. The part number for the fill valve is 131389300, according to the model back.

Will not agitate or spin, makes loud noise during those cycles

Sounds like coupling gears between transmission and motor... they did away with the belt and went direct drive with coupling gears. It can pump water out but nothing else. water pump is mounted to front of motor is why it will pump water out.
