How can i find the correct window settings on my ti, so I that i'm able to see both graphs? y=0,5x^2 - 3x and y=3-2x-x^2 (can't figure out this formula out neither: x^4-10x^3+100x^2)
Set the windows dimensions to Standard (Xmin=-10, Xmax=10, Ymin=-10, Ymax=1: Both are parabolas, and the interesting part is the neighborhood of the extremum (maximum or minimum) and the location of the zero.
The third curve varies very fast, so you will have to reduce the interval Xmin, Xmax. to see the neighborhood of the origin, where the minimum is. (Minimum is at (0,0).

I meant the ZEROES.
Can give give an explanation on how u got this working=
i mean for this formula: x^4-10x^3+100x^2
Forget what i said before, if i get something like this: should i lower or make the Xmin or Xmax bigger or lower/make bigger the Ymin and Ymax? Thanks in advance.
The function is varying too much for comfort. You must decrease the interval between Xmin and Xmax. But before you must have an idea where the Zero(es) of the function is (are). Once you know where the x-intercept(s) is(are) you center the Xmin and Xmax values so that the position of the zero is midway between them.To master the process you must experiment with the windows settings.

just type it in, e.g. 1/2 or 3/5. if you want to have answers display as fractions, press [MATH] ENTER.

Your stat plots are on, and may not be filled out/ correctly filled out.
go to [Y=] and go up to the stat plots ([Plot 1], [Plot 2], [Plot 3] ) and turn off the ones that are "ON" ( highlighed black w/ white text.) and press [ENTER] on the ones that are on and the problem is no more.

More than likely, you've put in a number in the xmin or xmax that is not correct. Example....you put in an xmin of 10 and an xmax of -10 which would be backwards. This could also happen in the ymin or y max.
The easiest way to fix this is to press zoom 6 which wil get you back to the default graph of xmin of -10, xmax of 10 and ymin of -10 and y max of 10.
If you can't see your graph on this screen and need to change the window, just be sure the number in the min for both x & y is smaller than the number in the max. You change your window size by pressing the window button.

Hello,
Some old junk is in memory. Reset the memory to defaults and everything will be fine. It is a good practice to clear memory before a new calculation.
To reset memory
Press [2nd][MEM][7:Reset][1:All ram][2:Reset] [EMTER] . Clear screen and enter the functions you want to graph.
Hope it helps.
