the ususal way to turn on a scala rider headset is to hold the symbol fo rabout 5 seconds then hold just behind the symbol for another 5 sec's untill the light blinks red and blue then it will be able to link to your phone for the first time. if it links automatically or you have already linked it then just let it do its thing near the back you will find a sectioned off aread and in the center it will have a raised button that is the talk / answer / redial button just forward of that there is a button (the one that you held to make it blink red and blue) that is the voice dial button the icon itself is just for on/off the two raised areas on the back next to the charge port are the volume buttons up/down respectively
