My screen recently cracked, which isnt covered in the warranty, so instead of buying a new one(because repaires are rediculously expensive), my dad bought me a screen from ebay for about $25. It came with tools and everything, but the only this missing is the instructions! so i was wondering if any body had a clue how to go about taking out the old screen and putting in the new...
Re: Lg chocolate 800 screen replacement instructions
Well all you have to do is open up the phone then when you see the screen there should be wire connecting it to the chip just take it out careful as it is fragile and could brake then just take out the screen and replace it with the new onw and you should be done sence there isnt any hardware you have to install
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

The set needs a new LCD if it looks cracked and swirly, the colors all run together in the area of the crack don't they! If it is cracked it can't be fixed. you can replace the lcd but I am not sure if a warranty will cover a cracked screen or not. You will need to contact LG and be very nice to them and see if they will honer the warranty on this.
I have a LG Chocolate BL 40. It fell down and cracked its display screen from several loactions. So I got a the cracked display screen replaced with a new one. All seems to be working fine except that when the call comes the answer button which used to display as green gets greyed out and does not lets you answer the call. I have tried upgrading the software as well as a factory reset bit it has not helped. C
Can somebody advise how/if it can be fixed?
If you have insurance on your phone getting it wet will invalidate all warranties and insurance. The only time insurance can be used if the phone is malfunctioning (not from getting wet), or LOST. If your phone is lost, they will give you a brand new one under the insurance policy.
The only piece of a mobile that can go bad when dunked is the LCD screen if it has liquid in it.
1. If you do not want to purchase anything, you can try to remove the lens from the LCD screen and see if any water is between the lens and the lcd. (the lens is the glass that covers the lcd which is usually stuck on with double sided tape.)
The problem you are describing is a somewhat common issue with the LG VX-8500...you can try removing the battery from the phone while the phone is still on. This is known as a "hard reset" and can sometimes resolve phone "glitch" issues. However, the Chocolate with the blank screen is often something that simply means the phone needs to be replaced. Check with your provider on whether your phone is covered by manufacturer warranty or not. If not, it may be time to consider upgrading your phone, or if you have phone insurance, filing a claim and getting a refurbished Chocolate.
sir, better u take it to any technician near to ur home. ask him to change its screen with new one because this has broken already and it can't be get repaired.i need to be changed so better take it to any technician.thank you
LG had a problem with their first screen manufacturers in which caused LG to recreate a whole new batch of LG 8500's The white screen was common for a short while.
As im assuming you all have verizon wireless, Take your phone into the nearest corporate store and have a tech look at it .. If your under warranty and there's no physical or liquid damage to the phone, you can have it replaced for free. If none of that is true then it's gonna either be 50.00 plus tax where applicable or buying a new phone.
But still, take it in .. have them look at it .. just looking at it costs nothing.
