Hi tgpi,

Personally I have never heard any speaks that were built into a monitor that did not sound like ****. You might be able to find some software like an equalizer that you could manipulate the sound, but don't think you will be happy with it no matter what you do.

I solved the same problem buy going to Big Lots and buying a set of external speakers for $10 that has a AC power supply and they sound much much better than the monitor speakers.

Walmart also carries external speakers but costs a bit more.

Hope this helps

To adjust volume, press the down arrow on the lower right corner, to enter volume-setting mode. Then use the up arrow to raise the volume. I think you press the menu button when you are done, or the volume graphic might just go away after a minute.

How can I get a louder sound volume

some of the built in speakers of our PC and monitors are usually inferior when it comes to specs since they are just a add feature on the main gadgets. what i suggest is that you check for the Audio Line Out connection on your monitor and have it fed to a external sound blaster (no choice!).

How do i hook external speakers to sony bravia television

The proper way to do this would be to use the audio output from the TV, either analogue left and right or the optical port, and send it into an dedicated amplifier or AV receiver. You can then use the amplifier or receiver to power the external speakers. If you are using a dedicated amplifier with no volume control you will want to change the audio output setting on the TV to "variable out" as oppose to its current "fixed out"settings. You can find this in the TV menu, usually under the audio settings. This will allow you to use the current TV remote to adjust the audio volume coming out of the external speakers.

Is it possible 2 connect altec ada995 to sony KDF 50E300 52 in TV

I was in the same situation you are in when I got my new computer. Provantage sells this little adapter: http://www.provantage.com/logitech-970150-0403~7LGTC96V.htm

The only problem is, since the genius who made this model didn't put an external volume control on the speakers, there is no way to control the volume. they operate at full blast. which is, as you know, heart stopping. to combat this problem i used another adapter I found at radio shack(http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103710) and plug it into my tv's headphone jack.

hope this helps. If you find another way to control the volume PLEASE let me know.

Built-in monitor speakers are usually not the best quality. The monitor should have it's own volume control have you tried adjusting it?

You can use external speakers by plugging them into the same jack in the back (green) of the PC instead of the monitor.

CJ,
1. Check make sure the audio cable are plugged in from the monitor to the PC output audio jack (light green).
2. Open your on screen display and go to Volume settings. See if it set on mute or set to 0.
3. Turn of your monitor & PC and unplugged all the cables from your monitor and PC wait for 10 seconds and then replugged it all the cables and audio cable back. Then turned on you PC...
4. If it still doesn't work.. open the back cover see if the speaker cable are plugged in.
5. If that doesn't work...then your monitor AD board built-in speakers are defective.
6. Why not just used a external speakers, it give better sound quality.
