Question about Dantz EMC RetroSpect 7 Add-On Value Package

Retrospect I installed mionet and emc retrospect software on my network. I was given a password for retrospect and when I went to set up the backup it asked for a username and password. It will not take the unsername & password that I was given. How do I get past this problem as there is no way to click on a lost password on the retrospect windows, which is a bad thing.

Mionet seems to give the username in some funny form with the name of the resource eg \\[name]\mionet-[username] Try using only your username in the username field or mionet-username - I can't remember which worked. Also it may work better is IP number and ID-string is used especially if the professional version of Retrospect is used.

Did you have your 'Caps Lock' on either when setting up or trying to access software?
Otherwise you may just have to re-install software.
Write down password, and keep it safe this time.

My windows confirmed but dont know how to get proof of purchese to web site

Although the user manual says files on the hard drive can be opened by duoble-click on the icon, I do not seem to be able to open the drive. Where am I going wrong please?

Check you double click speed settings if it is to high you will not be able to click that fast... as an other option you can right click and choose open.

How can i tell if files are actually backing up. I would like to know where to look for additional comfort that I am having back-ups made.

if you have a maintenance plan that is doing this for you automatically, then try and restore one of the backups to see if it is ok.

Activate Retrospect software

Go to . Get the serial number from your drive and enter it together with your email in the dialogue box. Select the software you want ...and download. Hope this helps..
