Look on Ebay for a password reset disk. Many vendors on Ebay sell a bootable "linux" disk that you boot from and then you can edit your password file on Windows. I have versions for XP/ Vista.Windows 7.

Be sure to get one that works for your version of windows. You must set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive first for this to work. About $5 to $10 for the reset disk.

Power on your machine, let it log onto your Windows User, when you bought or upgraded your Windows to Windows 8, you were asked to create a Windows User Account, default would of been a Windows 8 Microsoft Log in like your Microsoft Log in, [email protected] or @live.com or @live.ie and so one.

Try log on using your Microsoft Password.

If you clicked Local Account, then this account does not need a password, you can bypass the step.

restart the pc and before windows starts up press the f-8 key to bring up the start-up option screen. select safe mode. log on to any of the listed accounts as each is an administrator account.
note: if you did not set an administrator password for the pc when installing windows, you may be able to click anywhere on the desktop screen and the administrator account will display. you select that account and hit enter without using a password.

find system commander!!! or ERD Commander.. the geek squad CD would work as well but make sure you boot from the CD and choose the password utilities.
