I can't seem to get rid of the HP Product registration pop-up. It pops on my screen dozens of times whem I an on the internet. I've tried clicking on register, and it closes. If I click cancel, I can choose when I want to see it. But even if I click to now show it to me again, it keeps coming back over and over. I just want to eliminate it.

-   Same problem with the 'extend my warranty', and nothing, I mean nothing works to get rid of it. I even clicked on tell me more/purchase and it only took me to the HP site, and still nothing to disable the pop up. I am no longer going to purchase HP computers again.-   Guest

This is caused by an entry in the Task Scheduler. To get rid of it, you need to be logged on with Administrator priveleges, then do the following:
1. Click Start, type the following in the search field and press enter: Task Scheduler
2. Cllick Continue to confirm permission.
3. Click Task Scheduler Library in the Left column.
4. Click on any of the following in the center column:
a. InternetService Offers (If your pop-up is regarding the internet)
b. Registration (If your pop-up is regarding registering your PC)
c. Service Plan (If your pop-up is regarding warrenty)
d. Extended Service (If your pop-up is regarding extended service plans)

BTW, notice that the idiot that programed these entries set them to trigger every 30 minutes, indefinatly.

Hope this helps.

I contacted the online help at HP for the same problem with a different printer.  This is a copy of the log.  Good luck.  Hope it helps us both.

It says it is HP Product Registration and that I need to go online to register. Right now there are 36 of these on my computer
HP: Yes, I have a probable solution which will resolve the issue.
May I know, What version of Windows are you using (Windows 98, Me, NT or XP)?
Me: XP
HP: Please click on the Start >> All Programs >> Accesories >> System tools.
You will have an option of scheduled tasks in that.
Please open it and delete all the files related to HP.
Me: It had a HP usg daily in it and I deleted that
HP: Okay, now please click on the Start >> run.
Type as msconfig in it and click on OK.
HP: Click the Startup tab.
roam the list, deselect all the HP programs. Click OK.
After that you need to restart the computer. This will resolve the issue.

Have you registered the product? I know it seems like a simple question but most people skip the registration of the product.Try going on the sight and register.Sometimes the produscts company recognizes this after you register from the sight and it goeas away. Or uninstal the device and reinstall and try to register

I had the same problem with the HP Product Registration pop-up that was multiplying itself. I went through the steps that were posted in the first solution here and then restarted my computer. A screen came up titled System Configuration Utility. It suggested that I choose Normal Setup to start normally and undo the changes. I didn't think that sounded like a good idea so I did not do that. There was also a box to check that said Don't show this message or launch the SCU. I did not check the box. Should I check it if it comes up again?

I have exactly the same problem where the product registration keeps poping up and if you try to register or say 'dont show me again' or try to close via task manager it keeps coming back until you have some many pops runing it stalls the PC

I have the same problem. It is extremely annoying.Since others have the same problem it is about time that HP solved it since the only beneficiary of the registration request is HP itself.
