NO picture - JVC GR D74

-   when you turn it on it says lens cap but the lens cap is of and then the picture is black when i press recored and then rewind it you can here the sound but no picture-   Diane_wight

-   I have exactly the same problem. The camcorder (JVC GR D74) worked fine, I didn't use it for a few months, and today it does not record. I did just the same like described in the post before, reset the camera, checked all the settings, etc. Last time I used it for dubbing analog tapes to digital and in order to that I needed to switch to S/AV mode (page 28 in the manual). But this I switched off again. The screen is dark, it says lens cap (which is removed), a picture on the bottom flashes, which looks like portrait and landscape mode (don't know how it got there and can't get it off), it records sound, it plays back tapes, but does not record video.

Help would be much appreciated-   Dativ
