I have a 3 year old Maxent MX-42VM11 plasma tv with no pic/sound

Hi,I have a 3 year old Maxent MX-42VM11 plasma tv that has no sound and picture just black screen; however, power button seems to be working fine the green light comes on and you can hear the click. Also the green light comes on, on the back of the tv when power is on. Does any body knows what to do or what is wrong. please any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Swollen capasitors, replaceing will cost $500, so best to get another one, 42'' samsung will sell for about $800. the pn42a450

once a plasma has a problem, fixing it or not, more problems will occure, trust me, i am the flat pannel guru.

Can I change the resolution on mx-42vm11?
Resolution is definded by the input. If you are receiving an HD signal it will display in either 720 or 1080.
The display is only as good as the input.

Picture problem with Maxent Plasma MX-42HPM20
Very common problem on these sets caused by bad surface mount caps. Check on ebay for a repair kit it's the only place I know where one exists.

Y-SUS board: How to determine if it's fried?
Your solid green "resistor" is probably a fuse and will have an amp rating stamped on it, if you can read it with a magnifying glass. Before you replace that you need to find out what else on the board or somewhere else in the TV is blowing the fuse. Resistors have bands to denote their value unless it is a large power resistor and the value is written on it.

It is a 42" Plasma Maxent. It turns on but no image, then you hear the relay going off and audio, after few seconds.

Maxent MX-42VM11 won't turn on
I had this same problem it turned out to be the secondary power supply. This part is made by Samsung and used in Maxent and Dell systems. The part number is LJ44-00068A. It will range from $89 to $259.99 on Ebay. The Dell pricing is better.
