Re: Purchased Used

You can find the drivers needed for your motherboard here. Download everything listed on the page. You can burn it to a disc on a windows xp computer by right clicking on the files and selecting send to, then your cd burner. I hope this has explained your question in detail. If I've helped you please don't forget to rate me. Peter

Have given win 7 OS to winfast 760gxk8mc mb with AMD 64 3400 cpu. MB's LAN, video & sound integrated. Support disk with drivers not recognised by Win 7. Therefore mb can't even connect to...

Using a friends computer, go to their web page and download the WIN 7 drivers onto a CD. The drivers will self install when you double click on the them (file) in Windows. Drivers usually need a reboot to complete the install, but you can select "later" on the reboot until you have installed all the new drivers. When downloading the drivers read the fact data carefully first as there are variations in drivers and you want the best one for your particular system. Some MB may have used more than one audio or video hardware. If not sure which, download all. When installing on your PC it will reject incompatible drivers.

Go into the control panel and select sounds and audio devices. Check to insure that the speaker volume is turn up and not muted. Also check for other audio control devices and check their volume settings. If you used the driver cd that came with the board download the latest drivers from the manufactures web site.

I think I have the wrong memory installed.

You shouldn't see any problems as your computer supports up to PC3200. Basically it is backward compatible so your computer will support PC3200 and all the lower numbers, such as PC2700 and PC2100.

MB ports no longer working

Does the probem persist even if you disconnect the USB headphone? If it does, then it points to problems somewhere else in your system. If it does not, then it's very likely that the USB headphone itself is the cause.

USB headphones aren't like headphones that you just plug into your soundcard. USB headphones has their own "soundcard" that's built into the device itself. Thus USB headphones will work regardless of whether or not you had another soundcard installed. This is usually USB headphone's benefit, not being dependent on other soundcards and having its own discreet settings.

In your case though, it's also likely that the USB headphone's driver itself is causing conflicts with other parts of the system. If this is the case, it would explain why your system is freezing.

As far as the longevity of the motherboard itself... these days computer chips are producing so much heat, it's very likely that motherboards/CPU/memorhy do not last longer than 3~5 years. The parts simply break down much faster than they used to.

Getting error code C1

First with the original memory installed, Unplug the power cord, remove the button cell for the RTC/BIOS, press the power button(to Dissipate any stray volts) reinstall button cell and reset BIOS/CMOS. Hopefully with the bios back to default everything should come up ok. Next goto and check for memory compatibility either with the config tool or enter MOBO info.
