Re: printer won't respond
Click on this link to download the latest driver for your Hp1320 Printer
make sure the printer is physically connected to the computer the communication cable and the power cable. Once you have downloaded the driver then follow the onscreen instructions when you load the driver. issue will be resolved.
TRY UNINSTALLING THE THE DRIVER AND REINSTALLING IT. YOU COULD ALSO TRY GOI NG ON THE PRINTERS WEB SITE AND LET THEM SEARCH FOR THE ATTACHED PRINTER AND USE THE DRIVER THAT THEY HAVE.CHECK FOR IRQ CONFLICTS CHECK YOUR CABLES AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE PROPERLY SEATED, TRY HOOKING THE PRINTER UP TO ANOTHER COMPUTER AND INSTAL THE DEVICE AND SE IF IT WORKS
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

If your printer fails to respond to a job, check that all printer cables are connected properly and be sure that the printer is turned on. If everything is connected properly and powered up, go to the computer's "control panel" from the "start" menu. Choose "printers" and be sure that your printer is selected as the default. If everything checks out in the control panel, right click on your printer icon and select "properties." Click on the "details" or "port" tab and make sure that the correct port is checked off. Next, double click on the printer icon, which will bring up a list of current jobs in the print queue. Cancel all documents and try printing again. If your printer is attached by USB port, you may try connecting to other USB ports.```````````

Don't worry, Please press the Exclamation point, which is telling you some error has occurred while printing or scanning, once you will press the exclamation button that would stop blinking and try to print again, please let me know it works or not

The error refers to a parallel printer cable, also known as a centronics cable. This surprises me as I believe this printer is connected via USB cable. If not, get a new parallel cable and try it. Here's a link about that cable... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_1284
If it's USB, I would use HP's online chat and ask them what to do about the problem. You can reach them here...http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SupportTaskIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=445194&taskId=110
I was also facing the same Problem, I solved it by following these steps

3.a welcome window appeared click next
--select local printer attached to this computer
do not check automatically detect............. then click "Next"
4. Point to Create a New port then
select HP Tcp/IP Port5. a Welcome page appears again click Next
6. Now is the time to Write the IP address you noted earlier from the Printer also check Always print to this..........
7. now by clicking ok or Next it will take some time to load another window
8. Now at the bottom left of this window you will find two options i selected the "custom" option, another window appeared click ok and wait for few seconds, when that disappear
click NextClick finish and wait..........9. Here You go another window appeared Point to the Manufacturer Brother and then select the model MFC649010.Click Next and Point to KEEP THE EXISTING.......... or whatever option you like..

If you can’t print and you’ve tried other solutions, reset the print system. The process deletes all printers from your Printer list, deletes information about all completed print jobs, and deletes all printer presets. 1.) Select Apple menu > System Preferences and click Print & Fax. 2.) Hold down the Control key as you click in the Printer list, and choose “Reset printing system” from the pop-up menu that appears. 3.) then, Add the printers you use.
