Question about Computer Servers

Orange broadband my livebox connection has been down for five weeks. message says ppp server have been no help at all.they say i must just this a major orange fault?.orange have not taken my payment this month & have offered four months free but cannot give me any date when the problem will be fixed.

Hello, I'm having the same problems too. The CS and TS are just ridiculous. There are a couple of possible solutions at I'm going to try them later this eve. I'm going to buy a modem and see if this magically fixes the problem and am going to try changing the settings on the configuration pages. Hopefully it will work for both of us! I've spent the weekend reading so many bad reviews for Orange broadband, it's quite unbelievable. Regards Emily

PPP should be refering to PPPOE (or point to point protocal over ethernet). PPPOE is the method that a DSL modem logs into an ISP. So essentially their log in server is down, and since your modem is unable to connect to their login server you cannot get online. This sounds like a problem entirely on their end, and unfortunately you're pretty much at their mercy in regards to when it gets fixed. My only suggestions other than just waiting it out is look into another ISP or purchase a wireless card and a large antenna and see if you can pick up an open network close to your location. The later option is entirely based on you lucking out and picking up a connection close by though, it's possible nobody near you is sharing an open wireless connection. Peter

Here is a orange live box fault finder:

The IP camera must probably have a static ip adress in order to work.
When the ip adress is dynamic the software can`t find the camera everytime you turn on your pc.
You can buy a switch to connect between your pc and the modem
and connect the camera to the switch.
But you have to install the software again.

If orange color exclamation mark shows on amber light of servers- what does it means?

I would guess the server/s have gone down wait a while see if any reconnect.

If we use the server without PCI-PCIe Raiser card, it can boot into the OS. However, it cannot boot into the OS when we install the PCI-PCIE Raiser Card into the sever, and it alerts message error as...

The problem seems to be 2 things..

1.) firstly send the boot priority in the bios to HDD 0 or the harddrive connected directly to the board with the os.

2.) second thing, the Raiser Card, if it has raid Harddrrives connected via the ext. one of the raid harddrives connected to it is malfunctioning , remove and disable one at a time until u find the correct one. Or it could be the Card itself is malfunctioning.

I'm guessing here that you have a IDE card connected to the Raiser card with raid harddrives on it, One of them is malfunctioning.

RESOLUTION To clear the RILOE NVRAM and eliminate the error message, reset the RILOE using one of the following methods:
On servers running Microsoft Windows :
  • Reset RILOE through the Management Agents icon in the Control Panel:
    1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Administrative Tools.
    2. Click on Services.
    3. Stop the HP Insight Server Agents.
    4. Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel.
    5. Click on the HP Management Agents icon.
    6. Click on the Remote Insight tab.
    7. Click on "Reset Remote Insight Board" (reset option will be grayed out if the Server Agents are still running).
  • Reset RILOE using the Remote Insight Setup Utility in the Control Panel (pink icon).
On servers running other operating systems and as an alternative method for servers running Microsoft Windows :
  • Reset RILOE by powering off the server and unplugging the external power connection to the RILOE board and the external power connection to the server.
A permanent resolution is not planned as the Remote Insight Lights-Out Edition (RILOE) is end-of-life and out of production.

Hi i have a dell poweredge 2850. Orange LED blinking

It sounds like a hard disk has failed or fallen out of sync.
This can be a serious problem if not addressed ASAP.

Call Dell, they have lifetime phone support for their servers.

Write down the Express Service Code and Service Tag number that is on the server chassis before you call.
This is the last number I used for server support: (800) 945-3355
If it doesn't work you should be able to find a valid number at

Help with server boot problems flashing orange lights etc

Seems the RAID is broken. You may see which drive (hot swappable?) it showing an error code with its lights in front. If not, I would suggest re-seated all drives.
If you see one that is not right, remove it all the way, while it is on, then push it back in, it should try to rebuild the raid on the drive, if it still fails, you will need to replace the drive.

Not sure what RAID you are using or how many drives, so feel free to explain more.

Ask your service provider for bottleneck in the fiber optic cable or change the cable I assume that your s a leakage or blockage issue with the line to the router.
