Wont turn on and Computer wont reconize it...

I had my Sanasa e200 4G plugged in for a few hours on the USB last night to move some music around. It worked fine lastnight..listened to it a half hour no problems. I go to plug it in to get rid of a couple "bad track"s, the MP3 screen shows that it's connected but the computer doesn't reconize it. I unplugged it to replug it in incase the connection wasn't correct, and the main menu stayed on(MP3)didn't reconize it ws plugged in, then it shut off and I can't get it to turn back on.What happened? Is it broken? Did I do something wrong? It's brand new and I've only had it since sept07.HELP!!!

Try this. Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted. http://www.sandisk.com/Assets/File/Downloads/firmware/e200fw01.00.12.exe You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool. - Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer. Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted. Best of Luck.

I Dont Know What Happened But The Same Thing Happened To Me Today. I Put It On The Computer To Charge Overnight To Enable Me To Listen To It The Next Morning.I Took It Off Of The Charger At Around 5:30 A.M. And It Worked Perfectly Fine And I Was Listening To It On The Bus (We Had State Marching Band In Cedar Rapids) And Then It Shut Off And It Will Not Work, And Before This Incident It Did Freeze Up On Me Quite A Bit And It Would Stay On And The Power Button Would Not Shut It Off, But I Did However Find That If You Press And Hold The Select Button Or The Record Button It Will Shut Off In Little To No Time, But Yeah It's Plugged Into My Computer Now So It Is Not A Battery Issue. HELP!!! -Mac

Tom tom xl does not turn on. been on charge all night and using car charger still makes no difference

try the usb cable to your. this is the recommended method to charge a tomtom when it wont power on. for reasons unexplained by tomtom they do not recommend the car or house charges.

plug it in via the usb cable to your computer for a few hours(make sure the green light is on and nice and bright) then press and hold the power button(this could take up to 20 seconds)

Computer wont recognize my e book...it was working fine last nigh

I devised these simple steps that tend to remedy quite a few issues with most USB portable / external hard drives and devices (though not always)

A few things to check but assumes USB and Windows for other interfaces / operating systems similar steps may be adapted to suit.

1. Ensure it is connected directly to the computer to a USB 2.0 port not a USB 1.0 port as this can have effects on performance and reliability

2. Use only the cables that came with it NOT one that fits that may have been lying around or is longer. Not all USB cables are equal even though they should be)

3. Do not connect through an external USB HUB unless that hub is USB 2.0 AND has its own power supply.

4. Use ONLY the power supply that came with it if it has an external power supply Don’t use any other unless you know it has both the same voltage and current rating e.g. 12V 500mA anything rated below that would not work properly.

5. Always use the same port for connecting your devices. Some devices do not like being switched about. If switched they may want to install software / drivers again. This can be especialy true if you move a HUB to another port

If you checked and fixed anything there and still have issues then check your hardware from CONTROL PANEL / SYSTEM / HARDWARE.
Any exclamation marks by hardware need fixing before you investigate any further

WWON'T POWER ON

For one, you don't need the CD to put music on the Opal. It's a plug and play device. Go to My Computer on your desktop and you will see under Audio Devices "OPAL". Click on that and you'll see a folder called "Media" and that's where you put your music.

For not turning on, click Pause/Play twice

For charging, You need to plug in the USB cord into the computer to charge it. Wait 3 hours. The Opal doesn't have a real long battery life, i'd say around 10-15 hours. So you'll be needing to charge it quite a bit.
