Can i add my canon pixma 240 to a wireless network

Your printer does not have ethernet or wireless adaptor and therefore it cannot be connected directly to your network.
Basically, you have two options. The first is to install it on a pc that will be always on and all the other computers in the network will be able to print through that. You just have to share that printer. Rightl click on your printer, select properties and then under the share tab click to share your printer.
The other option (if you are printing all the time) is to buy a print server. A print server is a device that is between the network router and the printer. You connect the usb cable to the print server and then the print server on the router. This way your printer will become available to the entire network.

My printer canon ir2022n network printer does not print from my new vista business OS computer

Windows sharing based printers are dependent on the computer where the printer is attached. This means that if the computer is turned off, or is in the sleep/hibernate mode, then all the computers that can print through that server will not be able to print. To solve this issue you can use external print servers to share printers in the home/office. External print servers are connected to the router which allows it to be available on the network without being dependent on any other computer system. External print servers are available in both wireless and wired versions, and the choice between those options is based on the needs of the home or office.get more information and help for Network Printer Configuration .Hope this helps you.

Can't print from my mac to my canon mp980 wireless printer

Sounds like when you added xp you inadvertently installed new print driver on server.
Try rolling back driver. But may drop xp from printing.

Best solution network printer to router bypass server. Will require hard wire from printer to router. disconnect from server may need network card for printer.

Losing connectivity on my OKI MICROLINE 3320 printer

Hi chris_tzo;

Without knowing your configuration on your servers, it sounds like a sharing issue on the printer. If one of the servers is set to be a print server, then you need to duplicate that on the other. If you don't have a print server, then you are sharing the printer from a workstation. In that case, what I would suggest, from the computer that you are having problems with. Drill down into the network to the computer/server that is sharing the printer and when you get to the printer, right click the printer and click connect. This will load a direct connection to your computer, and you shouldn't have any disconnect issues again. If you do, I'd say it's a network IP problem that is causing the disconnect, which is a whole other can of worms.

Good Luck

Tally 8008 not printing mac OSX 10.5.6 leopard

Found a solution. We connected 8008 printer to imac running Tiger & we can now print via network on any of our emacs running Leopard. Not ideal but at least we can now use the printers. I would still love a dedicated driver to work direct but I suppose this will do for now.

I have an Epson Stylus Photo R220 Printer connected to a linksys print server, but

Well, The first thing you should do is to try to test of the print server is properly connecting to the printer. Check the linksys printserver manual and look for how to print a status sheel from the print server. Once done, get the IP address of the print server. Go to your laptop and navigate to control panel/printer. See if you have the driver installed or download the Vista Drivers from During the installation, it will ask you what connection type your computer uses. cancel out of the installation or choose LPT1 as the port. Once done, go back to control panel/printers.Right click the R220 icon and navigate to properties. Select ports after that and add a new port. Select Standard TCP IP port after that. Once done, the wizard will appear. Input the IP address of the printer and finish the wizard. you should be good to go after this.

Connecting printer to SBS (Small Business Server)

You can physically connect the printers to the server and share it from there or leave the printers connected to your computer and have the server connect to them via a Local Port which routes to your computer!! To do the Create the local ports you'll need to 1.) share the printers on your pc 2.) Go to the server and go to printers in control panel 3.)Click on Add a new printer then next 4.)Select Local Printer connected to this computer; De-select Automatically Detect Printer 5.)Select Create new port and select Local Port 6.)In the enter a port name, enter the full network path to the printer i.e. \\your-pc-name\printer-share-name click ok 7.) Select the drivers for that specific printer(if its not there click on have disk then browse to the drivers to install them) 8.) Continue through the installation until finish) 9.) Repeat steps for additional printers Keep in mind that your computer still needs to be on! You can check to see if your printer support a network card to make them fully network printer you can add them to the server this way and only the server would need to be on! Or you can also get a print server(Device that makes regular printers into network printers). Now when it comes to the scanning, i don't know of any way to share a scanner with just windows alone, but there are third party software that allows you to do that Check out There are also printers that sorta do the scanners sharing by automatically scanning and putting files in a designated area on the network! Hope this was helpful regards, babb
