Power button turns red when pressed and device will not turn on goes back to standby orange after a few seconds when nothing is pressed, it makes a click sound when it is attempted to be turned on. the device is about 13 years old so i presume it can be that, all the fuses have been checked/changed/tested
There may be a short on the output side. Try disconnecting all the speakers on the back of the amp. If the unit stays on after that, turn off the amp and carefully reconnect one speaker at a time. Try turning on the amp after each reconnection. This might isolate any shorts that might exist.
Testimonial: "just tested did not change anything about its status"

.Hi jepenny
The board you are looking at is the standby cct and power switching PCB. It sounds like that is working, so you have probably lost power to the transformer primary or the transformer is open circuit. Check for blown fuses and replace with exact same type and rating.
Be sure to unplug at the wall before touching any internals!!
If you can find no blown fuses, the power transformer may have failed. Good luck, get back to me here is you need any more advice. Thanks for using "FixYa"

Graeme

CHECK YOUR WIRING!!! I have had problems from time to time, generally after re-arranging, and have found speaker wires slightly touching on 1 channel caused my AVR to give similar problems. GOOD LUCK!!!
