I inadvertently hit the yes button to download ask onto my computer instead of no. I followed that screw up by dragging the Ask Icon to the recycle bin and removing it. The problem is I didn't uninstall...

  1. Click on the startbutton
  2. Click on computer
  3. In the top bar it should say something along the lines of "uninstall or change a program", click that
  4. You will now get a full list of all the programs installed on your computer
  5. Look for the Ask.com software and select it
  6. Click "uninstall" (this is located just above the list of programs)
  7. Follow the steps from the uninstaller
You can use the above steps to uninstall any unwanted software programs.

Hope this was useful for you!

I can,t delete ask&use googl

I'm guessing by reading that, that you want to install Firefox and remove ask.
To remove ask go to Control Panel followed by Uninstall Programs, then find ask or ask toolbar (anything with ask) and hit uninstall.
Otherwise if you're using Chrome you could also head over to Chrome Settings and choose extensions on the left, from there disable and uninstall any extensions that say or relate to ask.

Good Luck!

How do I get rid of unwanted ASK search engine

Hello,
You can uninstall it from your programs. What you need to do is go to start then control panel once the new window comes up go to uninstall programs and look for ask search engine and uninstall.
Once this is done sometimes it will open your browser and ask you why you uninstalled it etc.. Just exit the page and don't worry about it.
If it still exist depending on what web browser you got you can go to the add on page and uninstall it there if the first option does not work..

  4. Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner's brand for a custom Toolbar)
  5. Click "Change/Remove"

Windows Vista:

  1. Close all open Web browsers
  2. From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel". Under the "Programs" icon, select "Uninstall a program"
  3. Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner's brand for a custom Toolbar)
  4. Click "Uninstall" and then "Continue" to remove the Toolbar

Windows 7:

  1. From your computer's 'Start' button, select 'Control Panel'
  2. Click the "Uninstall a Program" option found under the "Programs" category
  3. Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner's brand for a custom Toolbar)
  4. Click 'Remove'

You can also uninstall the toolbar directly from the toolbar

  1. Click on the chevron (down arrow) on the Option button on the toolbar
  2. Select "Uninstall" from the drop down menu
  3. Click "Yes" when asked "Are you sure you want to uninstall this product"
  4. Close all open web browsers
  5. Click "OK" on the popup window

We ask that once you have uninstalled the Ask Toolbar that you reboot your computer to ensure that the uninstall process is complete.
