Question about Indesit 23 in. DV62 IX Built-in Dishwasher

Water will not drain

Hi, The above is a built in dishwasher so it is tricky to get to the drain. I wondered if something was stuck in the impellor. I took the filter out but cannot see how to get to the pump. Any advice would be gratefully received. Best wishes, Bob

Re: Water will not drain

Check the drain line at the disposal or sink (however it dumps into the sewer line). Remove the line at the termination and blow into the line, matter can collect or clog the line itself. The pumps are hard to get at usually as they are mounted between the motor and the bottom surface of the tank itself. It is common for the motor and pump to be replaced as a unit.

I have a Kenmore Ultra wash 665.16522. The water won't drain completely. About 2 or 3 inches of water will stay at the bottom. I wonder if there is a food catcher, and if so, how do I clean it? JSBravo

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller. Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

wow, slow down. you should be looking for something simple. make sure your door lever is in the off position and or the timer at the off position for safety's sake. take bottom cover off. turn the fins on the motor counter clockwise. the seals in the motor pump assembly may be stuck. this is a very simple design washer. good luck.

I have the exact same problem

There may be something in the drain line that that is limiting the flow. A cherry pit for example. Remove the drain line where it connects to the pump inlet (or valve is there is one) below the washer and see if there is anything clogging it there.

Dishwasher draining - Bosch SGV4313GB/17

This is generally because of a stuck diverter solenoid. The water goes to the pump and then is either sent to the wash arms or the drain. Also, check the drain.

Won't drain

To access the pump, first bail and sponge out any water in the machine's tub. Then tip the machine over on its front, using a heavy blanket or pad to protect the washer's finish. Remove the back service panel. The pump is attached to the motor. Look if the pump's impeller (a round plastic fan blade-type of device) spins around. In case it doesn't spin, look if it doesn't blocked or stuck from any other reason. Good luck!
