Question about Samsung HT-X40 System
I have recently connected my home theatre to my Samsung 40' LCD via an optical cable so that I can use the surround sound while watching TV. However after about 10 to 15 mins I get a delay between the sound and the picture. The sound lags behind the picture on screen. This does not happen while I'm watching DVD on the system but I'd say that because I have a HDMI connection. Does anyone know why I get this delay???
I have both the delay in sound and the loss of picture, I just bought and hooked everything up a few days ago and I am very frustrated, i may take it back if they cant help when i call on monday, I"m not sure I can get the download to fix it, even my roof antenna which i mainly use for HD football games has a sound delay with the digital cord and the rca plugs, it tried both. I hate to have to take all that back down and take it back but I wanted perfect by super bowl sunday,

I have simply taken my optical cable out of my TV and connected it from my Sky+ box direct to the cinema system and it works perfectly fine now.
I am afterall, only using the TV for the picture, the sounds comes from the cinema system.

I've run across the same problem. For now I've run the optical cable directly from my cable box into my stereo and I'm good to go. I hope the update will be something I can download and use with my flashdrive since i'm not connected via a direct cable connection which I assume is how the update will be sent. I'm not sure if it will make it through my cable box.

After taking tv and cinema system back i found out that using the old style phno leads(red,white) instead of optical wire it works fine. i now have a phillips system ten times better!!!!

Hello All, I discovered the same problem when connecting my LCD TV LE40R8 to my HT-X30. I reported the problem to Samsung this morning and they told me that they are aware of the issue (which is with the TV) and an automatic software update to resolve the problem will be sent out to the TV early in December. You should get an automatic update message on your screen, just follow the instructions and this should upload the fix. Fingers crossed!
