You don't need a driver for the monitors, the native plug and play driver in XP usually works as well as any manufacturer supplied driver. What's happened is XP doesn't recognize the onboard display adapter. If this is a name brand system (you didn't mention what type it is) download the XP display driver from the manufacturer's web site. If it's a custom built system, there should be a motherboard CD that came with the system that has the display driver on it. When all else fails, download System Information for Windows from It will tell you what type of onboard display adapter the system has.

I got recently a Packard Bell -Easy note TX86 ,my question is how can I choose between the Nvidia dispaly adapter and the Intel Display Adapter . Thanks, abraham.

Hi Abraham,

The best way to select an adapter is to connect the monitor/TV cable to the display adapter you want to use or you can go to the Display properties and choose the adapter to be used (you have option to make the display adapter Default).

Thanks and regards,

The display does not expand the entire monitor? i have a 25" monnitor and the dispaly is only using 15"?

You need to setup your monitor for full display. Look at the button in your monitor and press "Auto/Set" (or something similar) then it will start to display as desired. Actually, your 25" monitor has a built-in option to display in several aspect ratio. Please choose a ratio that will fill up the entire screen.

Another one restriction here is your video cards. Some video cards limit display size and resolution.

No driver

Monitors do not need drivers, the drivers are used on the video display adapter.

If monitor does not display full definition, then it is the display adapter driver.

If the monitor does not display anything, then the monitor is faulty or the cable is not well connected or faulty.

Provide video adapter model to get drivers for your video adapter.
