open the bottom ull see a nickel shape battry on the motherboard remove teh bat and plug it back again the pwd will no longer be there

Most laptops do not have one and clearing the cmos will not help.

Contact HP, they have a master password that can get you in. You may have to fax them proof of ownership to get them to help. I had to do this on a laptop.

Read the manual that came with your device. It should tell you in the manual what the default pin is. You can try 0000, or 9999, or 1111 just for the heck of it...it's usually something like that. (not sure on the number of digits for your device, but I think it would be 4)

The messages you see are telling you that smthing is wrong with the hardisk.
If you have set a bios password and you forget it, you could remove mobo's battery for a while-not an easy task on a laptop- otherwise please write down your bios type version

Power-on password on my HP NC8430

restart computer and as it is starting up, before you get to the password part, hold down F1 button on top of keypad...that should take u to the internal info for the pc...(Using windows?)...you should be able to re-enter or just delete the password there...then save info and reboot your computer....
