Question about Kenmore Elite 45986 Front Load Washer
The wife put a one-inch hole into the bottom of our front loader washing machine door seal.(She did find the torn-out piece). Instead of replacing the whole seal(admittedly the best repair!), I'd like to try "glueing" the torn-out piece back into the hole in the door seal!... My question to you is: Which adhesive or gasket seal MIGHT be best for attempting this tempotary repair? I was thinking about using an automotive gasket product, but am not sure about the adhesive quality of these materials in their ability to adhere the door seal material to itself. Any information/suggestions as to what adhesive/gasket material to TRY would be most appreciated! I atleast want to "give it a try" as the washer itself isn't worth a new $80. gasket + the hassle of installation, and the gasket can't be rotated. Thanks! dickmd
