In windows XP, select My Computer icon, right-click the icon and select the SD card. Now right-click the mouse button and select ?Format? from the pop-up menu. The formatting will commence.

BLU Energy 2, SD cards not recognized in phones

Hi Andre

You don't have a ton of specifics, but I'll toss something up there that may matter. You mention cards 'formatted with music' Phones may be picky about the particular formatting on memory cards inserted into them. The PC or laptop example would be the formatting on a thumb drive. Depending on the platform, you often can choose between NTFS (Windows-only), EXFAT / FAT32 ( Linux, MacOS), and somethings others like FAT. Some formats work fine with one sort and not so well on another (living in a mixed Windows/Mac home, this is no new problem to me).

You may want to look up your phone type along with SD card format and see what comes up for formatting choices. It may be that you need to start by re-formatting the SD card to a new format before transferring music onto it.

Hope this helps

Canon sx10 when i put in a sd card card error comes on the screen i have tried new card makes no difference. [email protected]

I don't know if you are aware of an SD card having a protection lock on the side I'll give you a diagram for the proper positioning of this little switch. Also adding that all "New" memory cards need to be formatted to the camera they are being used in. Formatting prepares the surface to properly accept new picture files from your camera also after each download the memory card needs formatting. I'm talking formatting not the delete or delete all buttons, formatting option should be found in your camera set up menus, takes only a few seconds and you are good to go.

Formatting memory card.

Formatting erases all the data recorded on the SD Memory Card. If an SD Memory Card becomes unreadable, formatting may make it reusable.
