Clock, timer and oven does not work on Kenmore gas Range

The clock, timer and oven does not work on our Kenmore gas range. The oven light works and the electrical ignition on the top burners operates normally. We noticed this after an electrical storm was in the area. We did not notice a near lightning strike and this is the only problem in the house.

Unplug the unit and see if this will reset the board. If this doesn't work then replace the oven control board.

Kenmore gas range model # 970-331513 oven will not light, no such model number on their webpage. The burners light but not the oven. The igniter glows, there is no smell of gas. Range is new to us. Also,...

I cannot find the model number either, however, if you look on the enclosure into which the control board fits, there will be a label with a number beginning with 316 or 318. If you provide me with that number I will try to help you. I am familiar with these as I work for a company that repairs failed timers.

We were given an electric smooth top kenmore range. When it was initially plugged in, the digital panel came on. When the stove was pushed into place, the digital clock/timer went off and the oven won't...

The electronic timer/clock must be working and be in manual mode for the oven to work. Try turning the power off and on and see if it resets. If is doesn't you might need a new timer unit. If you don't need the timer and clock it can be easily by-passed at the rear by joining the active and load wires and the oven will work.

Kenmore gas range, burners are working fine. Stove is not working, front panel, clock/timer..panel is off...

Hello there:
Please read the entire solution i have provided it doe4s cover things that you have said has already been checked but there is more to it
It won't bake or broil If neither the oven nor the broiler heats, but the range burners still work, the clock may be set for a timed or self-cleaning cycle. Check to be sure the clock buttons and knobs are set properly. If your clock has a knob that says "push for man(ual)," push the knob in and try heating the oven and broiler again. If they still don't work properly, you probably have a defect in the thermostat, selector switch, or common wiring. Note... If the oven doesn't have a separate bake/broil/etc. selector switch, the problem is often with the thermostat. It's not easy to check the selector switch or thermostat for proper operation. If you suspect a problem with either of these, call a qualified appliance repair technician. The clock stopped The non-electronic clocks on gas range/ovens often don't last long. That's a problem, because the clock is essential to the self-cleaning and timed-bake features. Clocks are rarely repairable--you usually just have to replace them. Electronic clocks have been more reliable. But, they're often integrated with several other features of the range/oven. So when the clock develops a defect, it often renders the entire oven and broiler inoperative. The electronic clock is usually integrated with a circuit board, and the touchpad that holds the buttons you press is often a separate component. If your electronic clock is defective, you may need to replace the touchpad, circuit board, or both. Although these may be expensive, they aren't usually very complicated to replace.

Clock and lights work but cook top and oven do

The clock and the lights run off of 120 volts and the heating elements work off of 240 volts.

It would be safe to say that one leg of the power is missing. Try turning the circuit breaker off then back on fully.

If this does not solve the problem then you will need an electrician to check the plug behind the range or the 'L2' in the range.

Kenmore Range

Try just unplugging the unit for about 5 minutes. That will reset the clock and hopefully fix the problem. If not you probably need to replace the clock.
