If the symptom is no sound,no pix--blinking LED, then C702 102K/2KV capacitor shorted and E994 pico fuse open might be problem. If so, consider replacing cap w/ 3KV for improved reliability.

Check all fuse devices.--With set plugged in,
observe which chassis LED's are lit.--Is the red
protect LED lit? Then proceed as in solution #1
    and please let me know.

Mains short circuit fried drive

There is no way of fixing this hard drive, if you need to recover your data, then there are companies that can recover data off faulty hard drives BUT it will cost you an arm and a leg for their services.

I have a memory frame, modle mf-810. I received it 3-4 years ago, I think. It's worked wonderfully until about 2 months ago when we had a power surge. Is this a power cord problem? or is the frame...

a power surge may have fried it if you don't have a breaker switch on the plug that you plug your power supply into. The only way to really determine is to connect your photo frame into a second power supply if you have one to see if it works. I found out the hard way to always have a circuit breaker for my computer units after a power out fried my computer hard drive.

Lp820 infocus will not turn on

Some capasitors should be changed in the powersupply and several diodes too, may be. There are temperature mode in the power supply is very hard and those capasitors broke from that. Therefore running of projector is not stable. However if dont change capasitors at time then one diode may be broken and the projector will not start afterthat alwase.
Its not so big work for repaire.
I hope may english is understandable for you.

Upon booting hard drives not recognized

You mite try to re set the board and I would start with just one HD with the OS shut down pull power plug push the power on switch to let out res power then locate the the bat on the board and remove it you will see a pin select set near the bat pull the connector and change the posision to the other pin (touch the two not together at first) then replace it the way you found it wait a few moments then try to boot again

Computer will power up for three seconds then shut down

Had the same problem on a few motherboards, check your capacitors very closely. If they are rounded or split on top they are bad. You can change the capacitors with new ones to fix your problem but it often ends up costing as much as buying a new board.

Fried Hard Drive

whoa!  what were you thinking?

do you have a WORKING system you can install it in as a second drive?  Power it OFF first, install as second or slave drive. See if you can see files that way.

I think I fried my LACIE 500gb drive

Sadly if you fried the drive with that PSU cord it would be pretty hard for a home repair. If you know its definatly dead, I would just remove the drive from the external unit and try to connect it internally to a computer. If the adaptor is different you could buy a cheapy online somewhere.
