We have just purchased 18 wheels of steel bigbcity rigs. The cd installs but we cannot bring up any of the three games nor does it show an icon. The package states it is a pc dvd-rom. We are running...

Is Big City Rigs: Bus Driver by ValuSoft you are refering?

OS: Windows® XP/Vista
Minimum Requirements:
•Pentium® 1.7 GHz or similar processor
•512 MB RAM
•DirectX® Compatible Video Card
•128 MB Video RAM
•DirectX® 9.0c
•2 GB Hard Drive Space

Recommended Requirements:
•Pentium® IV 2 GHz or similar processor
•512 MB RAM
•3D Video Card with at least 256 MB Video RAM
•DirectX® 9.0c
•2 GB Hard Drive Space

Do your PC hardware specification (Recommened requirement) fit the above requirement needed to run the program?

If so, "Right click the setup and install the program as "Administrator"

Update your Direct X 9, to the latest version.

Hope it helps.

I am trying to play 18 wheels of steel and when i try to play it a prism3d error come up and is unable to load how do i fix this problem?!!!

Here are the minimum requirements:
Operating System: Windows® 98/ME/2000/XP
DirectX®: 9.0
Processor: Pentium® 4 1.2 GHz or 100% compatible processor
RAM: 256 MB
Hard Drive Space: 500 MB Free
Drives: CD-ROM 4X
Display: 256 Colors
Cards: 32 MB 3D Video Accelerator with DirectX 9.0 compliant video drivers

The most common problem is a lack of a physical video card. Onboard video cards can't produce the graphics properly, and generally encounter problems.

Prism 3d problem

What type of graphics card do you have?

The min for this game is:
32 MB DirectX® 8.1 certified video card with T&L - prism 3D errors are mainly based on your graphics card. Try installing a new driver for your graphics card as well as download and install the game patch from hunting unlimited website.

hope this helps, keep me posted

3D prism Engine

I can't speak to this specific conflict, but generally this type of behavior is caused by buggy software or outdated drivers
The latter can be corrected by updating your hardware drivers. Begin by making sure you have applied all critical security & optional hardware updates available for your system at windows update. Then, you may update your bios, graphics and network adapters, etc. by following the excellent instructions outlined in this tutorial: How to Update Windows Drivers XP. Finally, make sure your system meets the suggested minimun requirements for running that game. You might need to upgrade ram, for example.

You can also take a look at the Application Logs in Event Viewer, to see specifically what error is causing the freeze. (Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer). Look for warnings or Errors reported at the time of the application failure. If you right click on the Event ID # and choose properties, you will open an Information window that provides the option to get more information in Help & Support about the particular event in question, and oftentimes this will allow you to take steps to remedy the situation.
That will give you a few opportunities to troubleshoot the cause.
I hope one or the other will provide a solution.

If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

18 WOS Amercan Long Haul

Please try applying the patch for this game located here:

If this does not help, ensure your computer meets the system requirements.

While I dont know your computer, many games crash on built in video because there is no support for hardware transform and lighting which many games require to run these days.
