We have a new hp printer d2545 desk jet...

we have a new hp printer d2545 desk jet. when we run a color copy it prints a small black rectangle on the page. it is 1/4 x 3//8 and is on the 8 1/2" centerline but is anywhere on the 11" length. this driving us nuts.thank you
