This machine is relatively new and I only use it once a week do do about 6 loads. Last night I heard from the other room a dinging sound coming from it that I hadn't heard before, unlike the dinging it makes when it is through with a load. I checked it out and it was flashing the letters LE. I don't know what this means but I do know that it had water that was not draining from the drum and the drum will no longer rotate back and forth. Any help would be greatly appreciated........ Greg.
First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:
The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000

Awesome post thanks. MNTECH
Only thing is when you are pulling off the motor rotor remember that magnets are being used and it takes some strength to pull it off. I went to a local store and before I said anything the parts guy said oh you need a hall sensor. So from his comment this sensor does go out a lot. I would also agree with MNTECH that it takes 30 minutes not including the run to the store. Oh 24 dollar part and I did not have to call a tech.
Tools needed: phillips screw driver, 3/8 and 9/16 socket.
By the way while you have it out wipe the machine down. :o)
