Quit running when I turn the switch on nothing

First is motor humming when door is closed and start button is pushed, if you hear motor running but drum does not move , check belt, broke. If motor does nothing check breakers one could be blown , next check door switch , if it was running on last load but quit check thermal switch it opens if lint builds up in vent or vent is plugged, make sure motor turns easily. Dryer are pretty easy to repair just watch how you take it apart , these run on 220 volts so unplug machine

by igniter I assume you mean the thermocoupler. are you turning the control button to run after you light the pilot light? Normally when those furnaces quit it is the thermocoupler that has quit. Get a new one and leave it in the furnace compartment as a spare.

you don't connect it up direct unless you want to destroy the compressor and burn the motor out
check for a reset or thermal overload button if it just shut down when over pressured
replace the pressure control switch is the best fix after checking out the motor condition

If the vacuum cleaner motor doesn't run the on - off switch might be turned off or defective. Test the switch with an Ohm meter or continuity checker.
If the vacuum cleaner motor does not run the motor itself might be burned out. Check the power switch first to be sure the motor can get power. Then, be sure the motor shaft can turn freely, that nothing is obstructing it. If the motor can turn freely and is getting power but still won't run it will need to be replaced.

Did your bike quit whilst it was running, or is the problem that it won't turn over on the starter when you try to start it?Position 1 of the ignition switch should allow the starter to be operated and the engine to fire up. Position 2 is for parking lights only. The ignition switch can suffer poor internal contacts with age. It may have been replaced with the wrong type of switch if you say it turns over in position 2. Have you checked the fuses? If they are OK, try bypassing the ignition switch completely.If you are running the original ignition, the control box under the tank can fail. Check that there is a spark on all three plugs. THEY ALL MUST BE KEPT EARTHED when turning the engine over to avoid destroying the ignition module.

check all of the grounds, battery to engine, battery to body and so on

You might want to start with checking all the fuses, then next replacing the ignition switch. If it seems as though nothing is getting power,think about a battery and have your alternator checked.

Thermostat is more than likely bad. Nothing runs but light is on

If the timer cycles your lid switch is ok.

It is probably cost efficient to replace the unit rather than trowing parts at it .
