Download the driver from motorola web site. Then look for this program "bitpim" it is free. After you install it, restart your pc and then connect your phone to it. It should communicate with your phone with no problems. And you should be able to ad/modify information in your phone. Good luck.
when you get a "sound" you want to save as a ringtone and you think you may want to use it again to send to another phone, always save it as a sound so that you can text it... Otherwise you can try looking on Phonezoo.com for the ringtone you want on your other phone, you'll have to sign up and select which phone you have. It is absolutely free. does not charge for ringtones and there is no subscription.
I think i may have had a similar problem getting error around the lines of "Unable to access application data". What worked for me was, restarting my computer and opening the IDEN loader program on my computer first, then i plugged the cable into my phone this seemed to stop the error. i also had to make sure the USB connection was set to Application Access

You must have an internet connection set up in your phone, %95 of ringtone providers send you link to an internet web to be accessed by phone for the requested ringtone, if you do not have internet access in your mobile phone, you're screwed :).
