Canon ink tanks contain a chip allowing the printer to identify genuine ink tanks. You need to buy reasonable quality replacement ink tanks i.e. from (Google) 'Inkjets & Toners'

IP3500 flashing 1 green, 4 orange What does this error refer to

Ink tank is not installed correctly/Ink may have run out. Replace them or see the setting is OK
tip

"The waste ink absorber is almost full" message?

This applies to the CANON PIXMA MP130 and other ink-jets made by Canon/Pixma.

According to the user's manual, "Ink used to clean the print head is absorbed by the waste ink tank. When this message is displayed, the waste ink tank needs to be replaced, or the machine requires maintenance". There is no information about how to replace or empty the waste ink tank.

In any case, you can try the following to clear up the error, but eventually you'll need the waste tank to be emptied or replaced. And as far as I know, you can't find the replacement parts to buy, nor the instructions to empty the waste tank.

Turn on your MP130.
1) After that press: Menu - Scan - Copy - Scan or Menu-Copy-Scan-Copy-Copy in some models, it depends on the date it was produced)
2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Enter NVRAM ACCESS
4) Select SET ABS-M LEVEL TO 0
5) Select OK
6) Keep selecting OK untill you leave the TEST MODE

Then turn it OFF and again ON. Check if the error message is still there.
The following is taken from the Canon website, regarding this specific error:

"Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk."

As I mentioned before, I have not found any way or procedure to empty or replace the waste ink absorber nor the necesary replacement part.

My Canon printer is pixma ip 3500. My printer is blinking and when i want to print there is a message "the ink absorber is full". Please help me what is the solution? Thank you very much.

All inkjet printers have a waste ink tank for ink which does not make it on the paper. When it's full, the printer stops working. You might be able to reset the counter in the printer, but unless you also emptied the tank, it won't help. It's like using a chip resetter to tell an empty cartridge it has ink. The "out of ink" error will go away but you still can't print. Unless you want to go through the tedious and messy process of emptying the ink tank, you are best off getting another printer. They're practically disposable today.

All of the cartridges(genuine Canon parts)are full and all the tank LEDs are lit in the filling position of the tanks on my PIXMA iP3500. When the cover is closed, the tanks return to the usage position...

Sometimes you can get a defective cartridge, and Canon will replace it for no charge, or the store it came from. When the cartridge is OK, the pins that contact the small circuit board could be bent or broken. It sounds like the yellow cartridge is bad.

Printer error requests that a full ink tank is empty.

You can try cleaning the electrical contacts in the printer and on the cartridge with isopropyl alcohol followed by water to see if that fixes it. Then you can try removing all your cartridges, turning the printer off, unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, plugging it back in, turning it on, and waiting for the printer to recognize there are no cartridges installed before you reinstall the cartridges. Otherwise you may have damaged the chip on the cartridge with static electricity when installing it. If this is a new cartridge I would return it to the store you purchased it from and ask for a replacement.
