Question about Frigidaire GLEFM385D Electric Kitchen Range
The LOC for oven door has been on for 2 days and I can't get it to "UNLOC" I have read the manual and tried all the suggested solutions and all are in vain... Please help Marj
My oven door was locked with the door open. Tried turning off power overnight. NO help. Tried to get my mechanically challenged husband to fix it. NO help. Thank God for your website! I set the time to 1 minute, held in the oven light and pressed the cancel light until the timer counted down to 0 (zero). I am a cake baker and would have been freaked out to have to but another oven.

The door latch hook pulls door and swing to close. The door unlatch cycle takes 60 sec. If it does not unlatch, Slide a thin wire below the latch from side of the door and then try to make a "U" shape of the wire arround the neck of the door hook and pull the latch from side. I used sodering wire.

What worked for me was - holding the oven handle and lifting up on it and moving it left to right, back and forth, you will feel it fall into place and it will pop right open for you. This happened to me twice already and worked both times.Don't bother calling tech support they only want to send a technician out, and that will cost the same as a new range top. Hope this works for you. Good Luck!!

We unplugged the unit and started it again. It worked! We were nervous because this is why we had to purchase a new oven. the cost to repair the old was just short of buying a new one.
Hope this helps somebody in the future. Our model barely shows up on the web from a popular manufacturer. That was interesting!

If you find yourself with a lock latch in the lock position with the door open (maybe as a result of opening the door right after activating the clean process before the latch has set) you should be able to correct it by pressing the "Clear Off" button and waiting awhile. Even after awhile it will not de-activate the lock until you "fool" the oven to think the door is closed by pushing in on the oven light activator switch located on the door panel for a few seconds. Good Luck!

If wiring to door lock motor are ok then the motor may need to be replaced. Need to check the resistance of the motor with a meter. If it checks open then the motor is bad.

Puling it lightly up and moving it sideways did the trick for me. at least it opened it .. now I have powered it down and waiting for it to cool
