Cycle not completing and spinning erratically

When the machine is washing it will do sudden fast turns when it is supposed to be doing the gentle washing action and it will stop mid cycle. Sometimes it stops just before the rinse cycle and sometimes, ususally on the 30 wash, it stops well before. When it stops on the rinse cycle, I can usually re-start it by turning right round to rinse again, but when it stops sooner I can't re-start it from that point.

This can also be caused by a thing attached to the back of the motor called a tacho.it produces millivolts of electricity which are sent to the control board and tells the electronics what speed the motor is running at so this can be controlled.they fall off occasionaly

We had the same problem. We unblocked the filter (found a hair grip, a belt buckle and a sock) and with luck it will be fine now. To unblock the filter pull down the little white round flap on the front of the machine and unscrew the filter. Beware though water may pour out when you unscrew the filter.

The Problem seems to be with the spin cycle, The cycle isn't spinning fast enough or the spin cycle is too short either way the whole thing can be repaired by trying another timer control.

I have a Maytag Neptune front loading washer, After a complete wash cycle I hear water sloshing in the machine when I open the door and turn the durm. Is water supposed to be in the machine after the cycle...

Yes. The tan/gray colored inner ring attatched to the inner wash tub actually has a calcium chloride solution in it to aid in balancing the machine out during spin. Clothes go to one side, liquid to the other. It's all good. It is sealed so it cannot leak out or create odors.
Hope this answers your question!

Unit runs good through wash cycle then while in rinse and spin does not complete cycle. The machine starts doing a short spin, and then dial starts turning around without stopping.

Sounds as if the drain pump is not ejecting the water fast enough. Did you notice of the washer is draining more slowly than usual or at all?

Maytag neptune stops in mid cycle

It sounds like your drain pump is going. Neptunes are suppose to neqarly dry the clothes with how fast it spins. A poor drain pump/motor, could cause this to be less effective. There could also be something in the drain lines. I would check that before you pay money on a pump though.

How long is the gentle cycle?. I prefer to make my own delicate cycle. I let the machine fill, agitate about 1 min. then turn off and let soak about 15 - 20 min. Make the machine pump out and start spin very briefly. stop machine. let fill up again and repeat to rinse. Don't let agitate for more than 3 or 4 min total wash and rinse don't let spin completely.

If the washer seems to complete all of its cycles, but it doesn't spin: 1) Be sure the load of clothes is not lop-sided. If the tub becomes unbalanced, it may spin erratically or not at all. Open the lid after 2 minute gap and reposition the clothes. This automatically resets an off-balance shut-off switch. Close the lid and re-try. 2) Check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that strikes it. If the plastic tab is broken, the washer may halt during the spin cycle. If the switch doesn't click when you press and release it, it's probably broken. If you're experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repair service person. 3) The belt may be loose, worn, or broken. If you're fairly handy, tighten or replace the belt, otherwise call an appliance repairperson. Pl post back results
