When trying to time bake i get and error f3 what is causing this problem

Yea -- we started getting the F3 when trying to cook for company -- I ended up going out for food. GE says it could be a sensor or wiring or wiring connector to sensor ... long and short of it is that they want $90. -- of course -- to come out and look at it. If we authorize their repair the $90 will go toward their repair price. If this is a sensor that needs replaced, how much would that cost and is it necessary to have an "Authorized GE Repair Technician" do the analysis and repair? Crim'n etlay (have no idea what this means, just trying to approximate sound my dear departed father would make in similar situations) -- the thing is less than 3 years old!

Not sure what brand of oven this is but there should be a tech sheet on the back of the oven or it may tell you in the owners manual what those codes mean. Might be a faulty oven temp. sensor for faulty wiring/connection to that sensor. If f3 means sensor on your unit and the wiring is ok then replace the sensor.

Usually f3 means a faulty oven temp. sensor. If you give me the complete model # from the sticker on the oven I can tell you for sure.

WHen I start to bake I get an F3 error

We have a GE slide in oven JSP34. F3 came up while baking. I called the 1 800 number for GE and was told I needed a new over sensor. I ordered it and it arrived and had a local appliance person install it. Seems to work fine.

Problem codes for self-cleaning ranges

My experience (Kenmore Ultra-bake Model 665-72002102) was that E1 F5 meant an error with the oven lock switch. In our case, the latch was partly stuck from food or other debris. Just moving the latch back and forth loosened the scale that was making it stick, and it worked again.
