A while back the ice maker quit - mechanically functional, but not getting any water. I originally thought maybe the filter had become clogged, but since the water-in-the-door still worked, ruled that out. Now that has quit too. Could it be the filter? Any other "easy" answers?
Thanks
It usually not the filter unless it is extremely old like 3 yrs old. There are a few things that could cause this but if both are not working it may be a bad water valve on the back of the fridge.

Ice not being dumped out because the heating element designed to slightly melt ice so arms can push it out is non functional and needs replacement. Cheaper and better to replace entire unit at nominal cost.
I understand that your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FRS26R4A, is not making ice. There are a couple of things you can check. First, check the wire signal arm to make sure it is in the "down" or ON position. The ice maker turns off automatically when the ice container becomes full. To stop the ice maker, lift the wire signal arm until it clicks, and locks in the "up" or OFF position. Second, check to see if the water dispenser is dispensing. You might need to change your water filter. It's recommended you change it every 6-8 months. The other thing if your appliance is not dispensing water is there might be a kink in the hose or maybe the water supply has been cut off. Hope this has been helpful.
Your water control has two sides. One side is for the ice maker and other is the water disapenser. If the ice maker valve becomes mechanically defective the water valve can allow water to continue to flow or not flow at all. Replace the water control valve and I believe this will solve this porblem, Thanks Sea Breeze
you might look to see if there is ice formed in the tray. If there is and it is not releasing the cubes, then the heater coil maybe out. Just a thought!
hi my name is mark, do you have a water filter on this unit. shut off water to ice maker. remove water line from ice maker, hold water line in a bucket slowly turn on water. if you get water. then the fill solinoid has failed. if you do not get water trace water line back to water shut off. if it is the solinoid valve. you will need model and serial number to order part
most likely the icemaker module has a broken gear. very easy repair. purchase whirlpool part# 8201515 and replace the motor module on the front of the ice maker.
