Are the blue and yellow areas clouds or stripes?
Try plugging a friends monitor into your computer. If the problem goes away then you need a new monitor. If the problem stays then you probably have a bad video card.

but before you update with new driver,probably you must update/re-installed Chipset driver of your Motherboard.

NO NO NO!
The 7900 is vastly superior to the 8500gt!
the 8500gt is a low end budget card not suitable for demanding games- return it get rid of it, that is a massive step down form the 7900. Its likegoing from a 7900 to a 7600 or worse!

may be the card is not properly inserted in the slot. make sure it's set properly, if it's not the case swich back to the onboard VGA & chk the setting in bios for AGP adaptor & see if it's enabled.
