2102 setup

The phones aren't on the system. You have to make sure to turn on "Auto Discover Telephones" under the system settings, system configuration tab within "tab to it" (on 5.0 and older software) and System wide settings, auto discovery with newer software. If the phones are plugged into the same network as the phone system, the phones will automatically come up with extensions.

I can't connect my router model f7d1301v1

Connect the IPS modem to yellow port. Then connect PC to any other port. Test if internet is available on PC. Installing Belkin Software will also show if DHCP devices show up. The default IP should be 192.168.2.1 then new devices will similar IPs. Plus check if your other wireless devices has WPS. It is a self discovery option.

I get the message: 3Com Model 3102- Wait for NCP M We have never seen this before and it is after a power outage. Our server is running. What is NCP?

Hello.

NCP stands for Network Call Processor. There is a problem with communication. Since your server is running, reset your router (disconnect power, wait a few minutes, then reconnect) that supports your IP phone.

Hope this helps.

Datamax-M-Class printer losing network connectivity. When you power off/on the ip add. come back. I've the ip discovery--enable.

Usually you need ot set the discovery to disable and set a perminient IP address for the printer. When in discovery , depending you network, it may loose comms.
If your network is running DHCP. (192.168.x.xxx, try 192.168.1.200 /snm 255.255.0.0.

Also the dmxnet card takes a while to initialize(30 seconds).

No network problems 3com phones can't get connected to dhcp

Assuming you are talking about remote phones, you need to program the NCP (call processor) IP into the phones manually or add option 187 to your DHCP scope. The phones are able to DHCP the just also need to know what the IP address of the phone system to connect to is. If the phones are on your local network then this is all unnecessary. They work at layer 2 locally and don't need to use an IP address or DHCP.

The sytem says its waiting for NCP and has the NCP light light. How can I reboot or fix the problem

This means that the phone and the NCP (Network Call Processor) in the phone system aren't communicating with each other. Multiple problems can cause this. Things to check:
1. Network cable - Is it plugged in, and to the right port?
2. Phone died
3. Is there an available license? (3100 series phones)
4. Is there a network switch problem causing a loss of communication through whatever switch that the phone is plugged into.
