Viking Range Repair Manual

The light switch and dimmer have become inoperative on my 36" VIKING WALL RANGE HOOD PROV 36W.430, to the point that the lights can not even be turned off. I am eager for some information on how to even access the switches for removal and repair. There are no screws visible to remove any of the shrouds. THANKS.

Juliac, the burner valve switch for that burner is either shorted or grounding out. Each burner control has a valve switch that controls the power to the igniter. Sometimes they just get full of gunk and short. Part number is PA020015. Catriver...post back.

The clicking is the electrode arcing. when the burner lights, a sensor tells the electrode to stop sparking after is heats up a little, that's why is clicks a little after the burner lights, but then stops. If the spark keeps going, the sensor is not registering the flame. The ones that do not click could be the ignite coil, the wire, or the electrode.

SOURCE: My Viking range top grates are dirty

viking advises using nothing but warm soapy water. grate polish works very good to bring that deep black shine to the grates again

Either the igniters are at fault (which is usually the case when one or two are not working) or the entire oven ignition system needs to be replaced and can be done through Viking themselves whether you want them to replace it or you yourself replace it, you can get the part through them.

I have a viking Professional range hood. While

FLASH covers a multitude of possibilities. What is the voltage of the blower motor. What you are describing often happens when 220 is wired to a 110 lighting circuit. I would not be running the blower motor although I hope it has inherent built in motor protection. If the voltage is applied higher to light bulbs they become flash bulbs. Florescents can become fire fixtures fast. If you are not an electrician back away from this and disconnect power at your breakers. Do not open up and trouble shoot if you are not qualified so you do not get embarrassed and have a dirt nap. It only takes about 40 vo;ts and a few milliamps cross chess to kill you. Also when ever you turn something on start and keep the habit of using one hand to turn it on and one hand to grab your pants behind you. OK OK or skirt. This prevents a cross chest shock . Old Navy (USN) death defeating rule that sved me many times and still. Remember call a pro when you do not know .

Fan switch not work - Viking 3048SS brand new range hood

There is the on off switch and the blower control that controls the speed of the fan. It is more than likley the blower control that would need replaced.

There could also be a wire disconnected in the hood.

Brand new Viking 3048SS hood - fan switch not working

think i would call viking back and ask for refund of inspection fee and go by the bad switch scenerio the electrician said new fan that would be considered flaws in workmanship in most states dont know where you are located but pretty much same anywhere most inspectors for these companies always try to blame problems off on installers hold your ground and make them fix it and refund that" inspection " fee I've been doing electrical work for several (20+) years it takes longer than 5 minutes to troubleshoot something like that good luck

Vicking VIDV500 Kitchen Hood

steve...first, is the light working? If not, you may not have power. If so, turn off all power to the unit at the breaker. Remove the filter and see if the blower turns easily by hand. Yes...switch could be bad...no...motor bad.

Open up unit and using test light from the hardware store and motor plug disconnected...turn on fan and probe the motor feed wire for power. It may be the switch that's bad. This should tell you.
