Hello - this may be a dumb question...
i purchased a used dishwasher for my rental property and the tenants have reported that it only washes in cold water. Is there something i need to do to enable the hot water? I'll have to check exactly what model the dishwasher is when i drop by tonight...in the meantime...any ideas? i really know NOTHING about dishwashers :(

- thanks for the quick response! the dishwasher is all hooked up and the tenants reported it does not wash with hot water so dishes are not very clean. Since you stated that almost all dishwashers only fill up with cold water - does that mean that to wash in hot is a matter of adjusting the settings on the dishwasher?Oct 09, 2007

- my zanussi de 6854 which is 4 years recent stopped heating is it the sensor or element which has packed up when the cycle is finished the dishes are covered in water so have to be dried by hand.- terence j mBest Solution

just about ALL dishwashers only fill up with cold water (one pipe) the machine warms the water up etc, simple one to solve, just connect up so and use it,
one cold water in, one waste pipe out
check for a fault with the heater element, there is only one) see if it looks alright first, if you can see it that is, then check for electrical circuit through the element, if there is no circuit then replace as needed, otherwise check the heater cut outs, there are about 3 located in different places, depending on the make etc
