    I hook up the linksys wireless and everything when well except it wouldn't except the password...then I went online to register and they send me an email for activation and I did comfirm it and try to finish the set up its still want except my password....now why it want except my password...could you help me out with this....

I assume you want router info - default username is admin and no password (should be on a sticker on back of router), default config web page is 192.168.0.1. If these have changed and you don't know them, it's probably best to reset the modem to factory defaults - usually by pushing reset button for about 8 secs. User manual should have this info or download it from http://www.linksys.com/ Hope this helps

HELLOW I IHAD THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WHAT I DID IT WORK FOR ME I DONT KNOW IF ILL WORK FOR YOU BUT YA DONT LOSE NOTING ON TRYING SO IN THE BACK THERES A LITTLE BUTTON BETTWEN THE ETHERNET AND THE USB IS ON A RED COLOR PRESS IT AND IT SHUOLD RESSET IT NOW WHEN YOU TRY TO CONNECT IS GOING TO ASK YOU FOR A PASSWORD AND THE PASSWORD IS LOCCATED ON THE BOTTON OF THE ROUTER UNDER THE BAR CODE WITH THE NAME FCC REG: ............ AND THATS THE NUMBER AND IF IT DOESNT WORK WITH THAT NUMBER TRY ALL ON THE BOTTOM OF THE ROUTHER

I am not having trouble with my firewall, I need my WEP id and password to use for my wireless. This is the 5th time I have requested help and if this doesn't resolve my issue I will be looking into why you refuse to help.

Solution for War Craft 3 behind Linksys routers.........
As the application requires certain ports to be opened on the router,try to follow the steps below to configure the router. Since you are connecting behind the router, you are going behind a NAT firewall.Therefore, you would need to allow ports for the remote access application to go through the firewall. You would need to know what port number application uses. You can check with the program manufacturer for the information, or see the Help menu.


For routers with old firmware versions (without the Cisco web interface):


1.Open Internet Explorer.
2.After "Internet Explorer" opens, please typehttp://192.168.1.1 into the "Address Bar" and click GO.
3.The "Enter Network Password" window will appear. Skip username and type admin (admin is the default password) as the password,and click OK.
4.You will need to click on the Advanced tab to the very right. Once the "Filters" area appears, please click on the Forwarding tab.
5.Once the "Forwarding" area appears, click the Port Triggering button. Once you've done this, a new window will appear.Enter the ports needed to be opened > Click Apply


For later firmware (that has the Cisco web interface)


1.Open Internet Explorer.

Disable firewall in router and change wireless chanel to 11
To disable firewall and change channel on the router please perform the below task:

1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports. Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
2. Access the router, usually with http://192.168.1.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com.
3. Login to the router with the username as "admin" and password as "password" (please note that the username and password are case sensitive).
4. Click on WAN setup from left menu. Set the MTU size to 1400.
5. Check the box for 'Disable SPI Firewall'. Click apply.
6. Click on wireless settings in the left hand side menu under Basic Settings.
7. Change the wireless channel on this page and click apply.

Blocked facebook via router
You can't really get round this easily.
But to by-pass the problems you can
1) reset the router to factory defaults... you will need the username and password for this for the router which are (depending on your version)
Username: admin
Password: password
or
Username: admin
Password: admin

Then set yourself up as primary account holder - you will also need the ISPs log in details.

Alternatively, use a web proxy server to connect to facebook. I reccomend SSLUnblock but for others you can find a nice list of proxy servers here.

Rest you router by pushing a small paper clip or pin on the reset hole back of router..

Hi, Follow the steps below to setup the home router:

*-make sure you are able to go online from moem directly.
1. Connect a computer to the router using any one of the 4 available ports.
2. Open the browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox or Safari).
3. Access the router usually by typing 'http://192.168.0.1' or 'http://www.routerlogin.com' in the address bar.
4. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the Username and Password are case sensitive).
5 go to Basic settings .> Does Your Internet Connection Require A Login? > no > Internet IP Address: Get Dynamically From ISP > Domain Name Server (DNS) Address : Get Automatically From ISP > Router MAC Address: Use Computer MAC Address > click on apply
6 go to Router Status ..if you have and IP Address under internet port.. you would be able to go online wired..
if not turn of your computer, router , modem....want for 1 min turn on your modem first, wait for the lights on modem > then turn on the router ..wait for the lights > turn on your computer. you would be able to go online..
Click on wireless settings (under setup) from left menu.
Change the channel to 11
Apply settings to save the changes.

go to WAN SETUP > check disable spi firewall > reduce MTU to 1400

Apply settings to save the changes.

Great problem with router zhone 6218
i assume that you're not prompted with the log in screen. if so, you need to check if your computer is properly connected to the LAN/ethernet port of the router (Note: you need to use a hardwired computer if you want a stable connection while checking your wireless settings) and if it has a valid ip address which shoud be within the subnet of the router's ip address (Note: by default the router's ip address is 192.168.1.1 and "admin" is the default username and password)

if you're not sure of the current ip address of the router. go to command prompt and type ipconfig. it'll list there the default gateway which is the router's ip address.

now if you have checked that the computer has a valid ip address and it is properly connected to the router but you can't still access the router's page, there could be a program that is blocking the connection. try to disable any firewall or any antivirus programs installed on your computer.

Remote access to lacie ethernet hard drive
you will need to open a port on the router first. Maybe 8080 once you get that set you will type the WAN ip and the port number. It will look like this: http://165.123.123.0 : 8080
it will then ask for a username and password.
